I have found it interesting that according to all of my Facebook friends the entire month of November, we are to be grateful daily instead of just on Thanksgiving Day. It is an interesting concept, but why does it only apply to November?
Why aren’t we grateful everyday? Are you grateful for everything?
I have found that most of my life I have been grateful daily. It probably stems from my being raised in the South by a very Southern mother who taught me, sometimes with a belt or a switch, that I must use my manners and be grateful for everything I have.
It is easy to be grateful for those obvious things. Our family, our friends, our good fortune and our health, but are you grateful for everything?
When you examine your business, I am sure you are grateful for your team or employees. Certainly you are grateful for your customers without whom you would not have a business. Possibly you are grateful for your success and maybe the failures you learned from along the way. Is that it? Did you forget an important element in your business?
One very important thing to be grateful for is your referral sources. Your referral sources feed you constant referrals, sometimes on a daily basis. Sometimes we get so many referrals that we start to take them for granted. Showing gratitude to those that know, like and trust you and your business so much they consistently tell their friends, family and connections about you and your business should be thanked more often.
Think of your referral source as your Goose that lays Golden Eggs. If you had such a goose, you would protect your goose, feed your goose and be sure your goose had proper care. You would not want anything to happen to your goose, because if your goose dies, you will not have any more golden eggs. Be grateful for your referral sources and let them know how grateful you are to have them in your life.
Remember to be grateful every day and be grateful for everything. Happy Thanksgiving!
